Na Fianna was founded in 1909 and our object was stated in our constitution to be the re-establishment of Ireland’s Independence. Today our object remains the same. The means laid down in the constitution for enabling Na Fianna to carry out our primary objective is stated as follows – ”Training the youth of Ireland mentally and physically by teaching scouting and other exercises, Irish history and the Irish language.” Above all Na Fianna is an educational organization, an organization that teaches and trains Irish boys to work for Irish Independence.
Since our founding in 1909 Na Fianna have been involved in a number of Revolutionary activities including the Howth gun-running of 1914, the Rising in 1916, the establishment of the First All-Ireland Dail Eireann in 1918, the tan-war and the civil-war and also the long war in the Occupied Six-Counties which kicked off in the early 1970’s.
We remain pledged to the First and Second All-Ireland Dail Eireann and totally reject Leinster House and Stormont, partitioned states established by the British government. Our aim is to completely cut the links with the British Crown and the EU and to re-establish the true All-Ireland Dail.
We will continue the fight until that day comes.
